Amazon payments quick reconcile.

Very useful app for companies who sell their products on Amazon & fulfill orders using Dynamics 365 Business Central and prior versions of Dynamics NAV.

 

Every two weeks Amazon sends payment remittance details as data file via E-mail. This remittance data file has list of orders, returns, seller fees, shipping charges, sales tax and remittance amount for that period. With increase in sales volume effort required to manually apply payments, refunds, record various fees & reconcile becomes time consuming for accounting dept. staff.

For example –

Customer has average count of 1000 orders for two-week period, accounting dept. staff may require up to  40+ hours effort to complete reconciliation with listed manual actions:

  1. Create  journal lines for payment & refunds and apply to specific invoice & credit memo documents.
  2. Create additional journal entries for various fees like seller fees, shipping charges, sales tax, FBA fees etc.

This is achieved using:

  1. Upload of remittance data file to Dynamics 365 Business Central. ( or Dynamics NAV 2018 and earlier  )
  2.  Action for use of automation logic that auto creates journal lines with payment and refunds application to matching invoices and credit memo documents. It also created journal lines for various fees & changes to mapped General Ledger accounts.
  3. Transactions where matching invoice or credit memo documents are not found are posted on account for manual review and application. Similar logic is used for various fees any new type of fees were ready mapping is not available will be posted to Amazon other fees & charges account.
  4. Accounting department staff  can then review & post journals. Automation provided by business logic reduces effort by over 80%.

Over 40 hours effort for manual entry of over 3000 lines creation of payments, refunds, its application to respective invoices & credit memo documents. Creation of journal entries for various fees and changes.
